Amy Webb’s recent column post on IJNet is about an image search tool called TinEye, which is able to, according to the image a user specifies, find "exact matches" and the modified copies, including "crops, colour adjustments, added/removed text, and slight rotations".

I’ve done a test using the most popular shot on my flickr and immediately found a copy of it, despit the four corners of the pic has been cut off. That website doesn’t give any credit to my photo at all, which is bad, but has still been caught by TinEye. Unlike Technorati or Flickr’s own stats tool, TinEye searches photos based on content other than tags or referrals and assists in a more intelligent way. Speaking in an advertising way, TinEye can "see" pictures rather than remember the descriptions of them.

The use of TinEye requires registration and it’s free of charge.

More instances of using my photos without credit have been found with the help of TinEye combined with Google’s "keyword+site:url" and I’m listing them here as memo:

was developed by Takashi Ohida(Japanese webdeveloper). If this tool is used, a Flickr photograph with arbitrary keywords can be searched. Moreover, the battle of the arbitrary keywords can also be carried out.
